Another affiliate program closes with no notice
Just recieved my 3rd email this week about another affiliate program closure (this time on affiliate window)
Affiliate Window regret to inform you that the above Affiliate Programme is now closed. Please remove all existing links immediately.
Thank you for your efforts in promoting this Merchant.
We apologise for the lack-of-notice regarding this closure but this is only ever done to protect you as an affiliate, and us as a network.
We suggest the following list of merchants in this category that you can swap your links to:
thankfully I don’t promote this program heavily, but why was I not notified of this before, giving someone 0 time to remove all links is a bit unfair, someone at some point must have known in advanace this program would be closing soon.
Also remember the apprentice tonight, 9pm :), the teams travel to Marrakesh to bargain with some of the toughest bargainers on the planet, looks set for a cracking episode

It’s preposterous that this still happens. It’s often lousy advertisers that close down without informing the network or their affiliates. The solution is for networks to take a serious deposit from advertisers so that, even if they do remove their tracking pixels and refuse to pay affiliates as of immediate effect, as least the networks have a wad of cash to share out to their affiliates for the inconvenience. Another possibility is to have a water-tight contract and to sue advertisers that do this.
This kind of behaviour from advertisers is damaging affiliate marketing and contributing to the success of contextual ad networks like Google Adsense where the issue does not occur.

Hi there,
Having a large number of SME clients on board there is always the possibility an advertiser will cease trading.
In this event what other option does a network have but to ask affiliates to suspend links immediately? I appreciate this isn’t ideal but is often an inevitability.
Affiliate Window has a strong tradition of paying our affiliates even in the event of an advertiser failing to pay us. We also act as a financial buffer enabling us to be the only major UK network to pay more regularly than once a month.

hi
). It’s just annoying when some programs give absolutely no notice when in some cases they can.
I didn’t realise they had ceased trading, I can understand that when a company goes under there is nothing you guys can do and to be fair the last two program closures weren’t from affiliate window (my moan wasn’t directed to you guys
I appreciate the response
